We recommend you put the firelighters inside the basket rather than balance the baskets on the firelighters. Of course if the firelighters are inside the basket they need to be positioned so that you can reach them with a match or gas-match.

LOL I never knew …
LOL I never knew what those two slots at the bottom grill was for. Cool learnt something new today. I purchased one of those chimeny things and they heat up beads realy fast if your doing that central type cooking as you dont have to seperate them when burning. I will use those two slots for my firelighters next time when I bbq two chickens with a split fire in those two baskets. Great info

The beads do work very well. I can’t seem to find them in Eire. I used them a lot in the U.K. and they were really reliable.
