Do you think a barbeque for 8 people produces less carbon than 4 couples cooking alone?

I mean the couples would be using a electric or gas cooker as opposed to a bunch of coal on one single barbeque

Yes I believe it does, 4 fires more carbon
1 group 1 fire = less carbon!! Got hot dogs??

    sorry about that!
no, probably more than electric grill and definitely more than gas. does it say ‘sustainably managed’ or some such on the package? that is important, i.e. did they plant more trees.

charcoal is lovely efficient burning fuel, but traditional production looses the volatile part of the wood, its a bit of a waste. soon you should be able to get charcoal produced by pyrolisis using the heat and making liquid fuel as a co-product. now that will be better.
