im trying to figure out a recipes can you help me ? Id rather it be more spicy then sweet but not really HOT , just spicy . Also when you cook do you suppose to brush the sauce on , because that’s what I want to do !

Hi JaY Th3 Gr8™

maybe that will help you:

Spicy Barbeque Sauce

2 medium onion, finely chopped
Oil to saute onion
2 cup catsup
2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup of water
4 or more hefty dashes Tabasco sauce

Saute the onion in a little oil until limp. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer until the flavors blend nicely and the sauce becomes thick enough to stick on ribs. Makes 1 quart.

Bon Appetit

BBQ is nice to make but it has sooo many ingredients. What I like to do is buy a store bought sauce like Baby Rays or Bulls Eye and just add chunks of raw onion, garlic, brown sugar and red pepper flakes or powder to it and cook it down a little. Also, you don’t need to baste your meat until 15 minutes before it’s done so it won’t burn

Capsaicin is what makes things HOT. Use spices like cumin, tumeric, and paprika. There are ‘mild’ forms of both curry powder and chili powder. Just don’t add the pepper. And unless you have a very low controlled heat don’t use any sugar or tomato in your initial sauce. It should be more like a marinade. For the final GLAZE you can get crazy. And a paint brush (or even a mop) is fine.
