My boyfriend wanted to have a huge party for his birthday, but it was way to late to plan and the idea fell through. Now he wants to have a backyard barbeque at his house. What type of food should you have at a barbeque in October? What can you do outside? Let’s face it, it’s a little chilly. I was thinking either steaks or just hot dogs, maybe some corn on the cob and potatoe/maccaroni salad, baked beans, a garden salad, and of course the cake (well, actually pie because he’s not much on cake) for desert. What are some fun things to do at a barbeque?
HI, BBQ’s are always fun no matter what time of year!
Good foods might be:
Shrimp and Chicken kabobs
ribs, pork and beef just in case someone is sensitive to one or the other.
Make a fruit salad from a carved watermelon and fill with fruits
Mac-n-cheese (home made) big hit!!
Salad, with at least 3 types of dressing available.
Potato Salad
hamburgers and hot dogs (mainly if kids are going to be there)
If there are fish lovers you can smoke some salmon on the Grill YUMMY!!
Corn on the cob cooked on the grill
and of course the desserts!!
Chips/ dips etc.
The great thing about BBQ’s you don’t have to make it all yourself ask everyone to bring a plate and note what they are bringing so it is all covered ,off course the BBQ’ed food will need to be done by y’all at your home!!
Have some music, offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. like wine, beer, spiked lemonades, sodas, and more!!
You could get you a couple hay stacks and have a marshmallow roast at the end or make smores!! All fun (especially if your buzzing lol)

i’m a girl….about 30 of my friends will be invited and 60 family and family friends. Its during summer and straight after exams so something that doesn’t require too much effort and is slightly subtle???

You can get tons of supplies at the dollarstore, or party store. They have these neat invitations, its a message in a bottle, with the invite inside, which are awesome. Be sure to remind guests to bring hats and sunglasses if the weather is hot.
You can decorate with beach balls, coconuts, fake palm trees, buckets and shovels, flowers, seashells, bowls of fruit, a water fountian, torches (for night time).
Buy those hawiian flower lays and grass skirts for everyone to wear.
Play hawiian music, play with water guns and water balloons. Rent a foam or bubble machine
Serve fruit salad, iced tea, lemonaide, fruit smoothies, maybe some steak, chicken or shrimp kabobs.
