Cooking lamb steaks and meal ideas?
I have lamb top round that I will be cooking tonight. I was going to broil the lamb and then slice it on top of some pasta with roasted garlic and onion marinara, and have some mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, broccoli, and baby potatoes) on the side.
Does this sound like it will be good, or does it sound like a disaster?
Also, how done should I make the steaks? I don’t like a lot of pink, but should there be a little pink or no pink?
Lamb is best served rare, and whilst the pasta sounds good, I like to serve lamb with roasted potatoes, parsnips, green peas and brown onion gravy.

lamb should be cooked medium rare to medium! medium will not have much pink to it.
That sounds wonderful! something like what I do when I am short on meats for dinner or everyone would have a full steak or 2 chops.
How about trying a very light sprinkle of clove on the lamb before broiling. I did that a couple weekends ago and my kids are still raving about the flavor of the lamb chops!!! Clove is middle eastern spice for foods and does simply wild things for lamb.

Lamb is big in Greek cooking. You can do green beans/spinach/escarole as a side dish. Just boil/steam the veggies until crisp-tender. Drain. Add 3-4 tbsn per pound of fresh veggies, juice of 1/2 lemon, 1/2 tsp garlic and salt/pepper to taste.
